Owners

Welcome to Holiday Helping Hands,

Our name's are Bob & Shaun Holiday. We started this service to enrich other people's lives. Between the 2 of us we worked in this industry for over 30 years and worked for multiple supportive home care agencies.

Bob's Story,

In 2001 my father suffered his first stroke and then in 2002 his second stroke due to the lack of care that he was receiving in the hospital followed by several mini-strokes. I was currently living in Michigan and I flew down to Florida to retrieve my father and bring him back home so I could provide care for him. That he so needed from family.

Over the years, my dad regained the use of his leg and arm where he could live on his own independently. My father chose to move to Wisconsin to be closer to my sister. I also followed my father back to Wisconsin. After several more years, my father had the seventh stroke that left him incapacitated and unable to take care of himself. My sister and I had to place Our Father into a nursing home even though we both did not want to. After a year of my father being in the nursing home, I felt it would be better to bring Our Father to my home and take care of Our Father until his passing in 2010.

Shaun's Story,

When I was 17 yrs old I worked at a nursing home as a dietary aide. I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with the People there. I also had moved in with my Grandmother

She was a Diabetic, had neuropathy in both legs and were loosing them. I cooked her meals administered insulin, her meds and changed her dressing for over a year. I assisted her in daily living chores that needed to be done. She Passed in 2002.

In 2012 my Mother retired and fell very ill with COPD, Asthma, and Bronchitis. took care of my mother for a few years while I worked full time. I still made the time to go to her home from Oshkosh to Appleton everyday to assist her with daily chores, Laundry, Cleaning, Grocery Shopping, Cooking, Cleaning, Mobility, and being the support she so desperately needed She was a CNA for 35yrs taking care of many people. She LOVED her line of work and always had wonderful stories to tell. It was a very difficult situation for me as a son to take care of my mother. I felt that it was my duty to do all that I could to make my mother's life enriched as she had mine. My mother was suffering from multiple ailments. Some days just being there giving comfort and support would brighten her day. It was my joy and my privilege to spend the remaining years with my mother building a bond that no one could ever replace. She Passed in 2016

Opening this agency, we get to continue the love and the care and the compassion for others as we had for my Father, Mother, and Grandmother. It is the best feeling that we get to get up each and every day knowing we are doing what my Mother Loved to do. I am continuing her legacy to help those who need it.
